There's much more to Tibet than Buddhism, monasteries and cold desert-like weather.A visit to culturally attractive city of Lhasa, Gyantse and Shigatse is another remarkable feature of this tour to discover ancient Buddhist culture, overwhelming landscapes, exotic cities, hidden valleys, artistic monasteries, dominant inhabitant and the rest. The mighty Potala Palace, Drepung Monastery, Barkhor market and the holy Jokhang Temple are the fascinating sights of this tour.

Itinerary :

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu, transfer to Hotel and welcome dinner

Day 02: Full day Guided Tour in Kathmandu Valley

Day 03: By Bus: Kathmandu – Zhangmu. Overnight in Nayalam (3600m) – 150 km. Departure from kathmandu early in the morning to Kodari (China/Nepal boarder) of 05 hours with great beautiful scenic views of landscape, River and mountains. After completion of immigration formalities at Kodari, drive further to Naylam following BhoteKoshi River in a deep valley with some overflowing waterfalls. 

Day 04: Neyalam – Tingri  / Lhatse (4050m) – 285 km. Drive through Nayalam Pass (3800m) with the view of Jugal Himal. A continued drive via Lalungla Pass (5,050m) has some of the outstanding view of Mt. Shishapangma (8,013m highest in Tibet) Mt. Makalu (8,464m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201m) and Mt. Everest (8,848m).

Day 05: Lhatse – Shigatse (3900m) – 183 km. Drive to Xigatse, the place of the famous Tashilumpo Monastery and the seat of Panchen Lama. 

Day 06: Shigatse – Gyantse (3950m) – 90 km. After visiting Tashi Lumpo Monastery in the morning, drive to Gyantse of 02 hrs. Gyantse is small busting town steeped in history. It lays 264 kms of south-west of Lhasa on the northern bank of Nyang Chu River. In the 15th century it served as the capital of a small Kingdom. Visit Kumbum Chorten which was built around 1400 AD. 

Day 07: Gyantse – Lhasa (3650m) – 261 km. Drive to Lhasa by crossing the Karo La Pass (5010m) and Kambala Pass (4794m) approximately 8 hrs. While driving you will see the Yamdrok Tso (Turquoise Lake), which takes of 1 hour to cross around. After passing Kamba La, Lhasa valley is seen to the north. You will also cross the Brahmaputra River. Reaching Lhasa and check into hotel. 

Day 08 & 09: Sightseeing in LHASA, These days you will be engrossed with sightseeing and excursions of the Potala Palace, the Jokhang temple, surrounding Barkhor market, Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. 

Day 10: By Plane: Lhasa - Kathmandu. After breakfast, you will transfer to Gonggor airport of 02 hrs drive. You will have a flight to Kathmandu from Lhasa would be approx. 10.00hrs Air China. During the flight you will see the following: Yarlung Tsangpo River, Lake Yamdrok, Mt. Kanchenjunga (8586m) and Mt. Makalu (8463m) and Mt. Everest (8848m). Weather permitting).

Day 11: Free day in Kathmandu for shopping and other activities.

Day 12: Departure.
